On Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers breezed through the Washington Wizards, 146-101, with several players putting up big performances.

No player had quite as big of a night as Joel Embiid, who put up 34 points on a more than efficient 70-percent accuracy from the field.

30-plus-point performances for the reigning MVP is nothing out of the ordinary, as the Cameroonian superstar has recorded 14 such outings this season.

Yet, the thing that made Monday night's performance special was that it was his eighth straight scoring 30 or more points, which ties his second-highest streak of games.

Breaking down his current run, the 31-year-old is averaging 35 points on 54 percent shooting, which also accounts for his seven double-doubles and single triple-double.

The Process' offensive showcases have benefited the Sixers as they have only dropped one game throughout the streak, which was the overtime thriller against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the in-season tournament.

The other streak of eight games occurred in the 2021-22 season, where he totaled 261 points, including four double-doubles, as well as a triple-double.

Both of these fall short of his longest streak, which occurred earlier in the year when he managed to achieve the offensive feat for ten games in March.

Embiid has a solid chance of potentially tying or even breaking his record as the Sixers get ready to play back-to-back matches against the Detroit Pistons, and then the Charlotte Hornets.

In his career, the 31-year-old has always performed well against the Pistons, putting up an average of 29 points against the Motor City.

The same can be said for the Hornets, as Embiid is averaging 30 points throughout the 17 matches, so it is more than within reason for him to potentially break his record.
