Bucks Sign Guard to $12 Million Deal in Major Free Agent Move

In this story:
The Milwaukee Bucks signed guard Ryan Rollins to a $12 million deal, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
The contract is for three seasons, marking his return to the Bucks. Rollins showed impressive ball handling skills last season.
Milwaukee needs scoring and guard play which makes Rollins an ideal guy to invest in.
Rollins, a 2022 second-rounder, joined the Bucks on a two-way contract in Feb. 2024 and spent most of 2024-25 on a two-way before receiving a standard deal in March. He opted for a rest of season contract, became an unrestricted free agent and now is rewarded with a $12M deal. https://t.co/uVZ5oa8rfA

At age 23, Rollins presents an upside signing for the Bucks. In 46 games last season, he averaged 6.2 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per contest.
He got about 14 minutes per game on the court and shot 40.8% from the 3-point line.
With mainly Kevin Porter Jr. playing as the primary indicator on offense and breaking into the starting lineup, Rollins should get a prominent role in the rotation this season.
The Bucks lost Damian Lillard over the offseason. They decided to waive and stretch the star guard and Rollins should get additional opportunties due to his departure.

Rollins is one of many free agents that the Bucks re-signed. Gary Trent Jr., Taurean Prince, Bobby Portis, and Porter all signed deals to stay with the team.
The Bucks are in the middle of trying to convince star Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay with the franchise long-term. In hopes of having a better season next year, they are banking on continuity and chemistry allowing for the team to take the next step.
Rollins is a key part of the team's path to improve and coach Doc Rivers should give him every chance to get on the court.
