WATCH: Mavs Luka Doncic in the gym 'making it look too easy'

The Dallas Mavericks will begin training camp in about a month from now, but in the meantime, fans are getting their fix by keeping up with the players' summer workout progress on social media. Pictures are one thing, because let's be real, there are many ways you can make a picture look the way you want it to. Videos, on the other hand, have a way of revealing what is reality.
When it comes to reigning Rookie of the Year, Luka Doncic, the video footage of him playing pickup games this week with Justin Jackson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Monta Ellis and others confirms what we've seen in his Instagram workout pictures posted earlier in the offseason.

Although we don't put too much stock into the actual pickup game highlights themselves, the fact that Doncic seems to be leaner than he's ever been since being drafted is an early win for the Mavs. As great as Doncic was during his rookie year, you could definitely tell that the wear-and-tear from an 82-game season started taking its toll on him late in season, at least when it came to his shooting percentages.
The Mavs coaching staff made conditioning one of Doncic's main objectives this summer, and he obviously took that very seriously. For a guy coming off a season where he averaged 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists per game while not being in tip-top NBA shape, you can only imagine what this kind of physical change could mean for Doncic's second year leap.
With Kristaps Porzingis being in route to Dallas as we speak, it's only a matter of time before we can confirm his summer workout progress as well. If it's anything like what we've seen this week from Doncic, the hype for this Mavs 2019-2020 season will only continue to grow.
