In a battle between two teams who are bound to miss the 2024 NBA Playoffs, the Brooklyn Nets and the Detroit Pistons don’t have much to play for on Saturday night.

Therefore, the injury report for both sides is crowded. On Brooklyn’s side, one of their sharpshooters is likely to miss the action.

Cam Johnson, a 28-year-old veteran, is reportedly dealing with a sprain on his left big toe. As a result, he is considered doubtful to play against the Pistons on Saturday.

Lately, Johnson has been in and out of Brooklyn’s lineup. Since March, Johnson went on a three-game absence, beginning with the last meeting between the Nets and the Pistons on March 7. After missing a few matchups, Johnson returned to the court to take on the Orlando Magic on March 13.

For a six-game stretch, Johnson averaged 28 minutes. Then on March 25, he was absent once again as the Nets faced the Toronto Raptors. Johnson faced another three-game absence before returning with a 20-minute shift off the bench for the team’s final game in March.

Two matchups ago, the Nets took on the Indiana Pacers, where they missed Johnson for the night. When the two teams met on April 3 for the second time in a row, Johnson returned to action. In his latest showing for Brooklyn, Johnson spent 22 minutes on the court. He struggled from the field, draining just two of his eight shots. Four of those attempts were from beyond the arc, where he knocked down just 25 percent of his shots.

Johnson finished the four-point win over the Pacers with five points, three rebounds, and two assists. Barring any unexpected changes, Johnson will likely get a night off against Detroit, marking his 21st absence of the season.

The Pistons and the Nets are set to tip-off at 7 PM ET.
