Bills Pass Rusher Von Miller to Start Season on PUP List, per Report
The Bills are placing Von Miller on the reserve/PUP list to begin the season, meaning the pass rusher will miss at least the first four games of 2023, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports.
Miller is still recovering from a torn ACL he first suffered on Thanksgiving Day last season vs. the Lions. The veteran had surgery on his knee in early December, which cut his first season with the Bills short.
Buffalo opens the season on Monday Night Football against the Jets and Aaron Rodgers, then face the Raiders, Commanders and Dolphins through Week 4. Miller is first eligible to return during Week 5 when the Bills host the Jaguars.

In June, Miller said he was optimistic about returning in time for Week 1, but admitted he wasn’t going to force the issue.
“I want to be ready week 1 vs. the Jets. Aaron Rodgers, Monday Night Football,” Miller said at the time. “But at the same time I’m not in control of that. I’m going to do everything I can physically, mentally, emotionally to be ready for that. But if it’s not the first week of the season, then it won’t be any longer than week 6, for sure.”
Last year, Miller recorded 21 tackles and 8.0 sacks in 11 games for the Bills, and he ended the season tied for the team-lead in sacks despite missing the final six games.
