Bengals Meeting With Stephen F. Austin Edge B.J. Thompson, Miami Cornerback DJ Ivey

CINCINNATI — The Bengals lined up a few more reported draft visits starting with Miami (FL) cornerback DJ Ivey.

Tom Pelissero reported the Tuesday visit.

Ivey is the consensus 418th-ranked player in the 2023 NFL Draft and is tracking toward UDFA status in this year's class. Dane Brugler has him ranked 44th among cornerbacks.

"Ivey struggles to anticipate, but he is tall, long, and athletic, can play both man and zone and can compete for a spot on the back end of an NFL roster," Brugler wrote in his draft guide.

Cincinnati is also meeting with Stephen F. Austin edge rusher B.J. Thompson.

Justin Melo reported the visit.

Thompson is hovering between a seventh-round pick and UDFA as the consensus 255th-ranked player in the class.

Dane Brugler has him as a seventh-round player and the 34th-best edge rusher overall.

"Thompson is currently a liability as a run defender, but his speed and length make him a tough guy to keep blocked when he stays under control mid-rush," Brugler wrote in his draft guide. "He is a developmental subpackage rusher (reminiscent of Arden Key) but will require time on the practice squad before he is ready for live NFL reps."
