Josh Allen Shares 'Most Important Thing' as Girl Dad to Baby With Hailee Steinfeld

In this story:
Before the news broke that Josh Allen and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, were expecting their first child, the Buffalo Bills’ quarterback expressed eagerness to begin his new role as a father.
Allen has played in a couple of AFC Championship games and hopes to advance to the Super Bowl in the near future. However, there is something much more important to him than the thrills experienced on the gridiron.
“I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, becoming a dad,” said Allen in a press conference after the season. “It’s something that I will take with great pride.”

Allen and Steinfeld were married in May 2025 and announced the birth of a baby girl on Thursday. The couple has quickly become a hot item on the pop culture scene, and as they have risen to stardom, they have adjusted well, something each of them hopes to do as they become parents for the first time.
“We’re going to have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else,” added Allen. “But this is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, is being a dad. And I know I love being a football player and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one.”
'More than a football player'

Before he and his wife announced they were expecting, Allen told ESPN how, since meeting Steinfeld, he had realized he was “more than a football player.” He’s likely feeling the same way upon welcoming his child into the world.
“My whole dream as a kid, you know, has been to be in this position, and I’ve never thought of anything outside of that or beyond that,” said Allen when asked what he had learned from his wife. “I hopefully get to still play this game for a very long time, and that’s ultimately my goal—is to play this as long as I physically can. But there is life after it as well.”
The Bills’ quarterback has already proven his value while wearing a Bills uniform. He’s also done so beyond the football field, serving as a pillar of the Western New York community through his charitable efforts while serving as an excellent ambassador for the franchise as a whole. Now, he will begin to share what he has to offer with one of his own blood.
It’s a special time in life for Allen, who, if his grace in other aspects of life is any indication, will knock fatherhood out of the park as he usually does.
