Browns Restructure Contract of QB Deshaun Watson Ahead of Free Agency

Cleveland Browns have made a contract restructure happen just before the start of free agency. The Browns have restructured the contract of quarterback Deshaun Watson, freeing up $36 million in cap space this year, per Ian Rapoport.
This is a move that was long rumored to happen as it was an easy avenue for the Browns to clear some cap space. Cleveland restructured the $46 million dollar base salary, making much of it a signing bonus. Then, there will be void years added to the contract.
Cleveland now has money to spend in free agency, and the contract restructures may not be done yet. Players like Myles Garrett and Wyatt Teller have contracts that the same thing can be done with.
Part one for the Browns starting free agency is done. Now, at noon eastern time teams will be able to agree to deals with players on a verbal level.
