Cleveland Browns did Their Due Diligence on FA WR Odell Beckham Jr. Today
Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. held a workout today to show teams where he stands as is recovered from another torn ACL. To what may surprise some, Beckham's old team was there in attendance. The Cleveland Browns were among 10 teams to watch the former All-Pro wideout, per a report.
Beckham is recovered from a torn ACL that he suffered two Super Bowls ago. Beckham was a part of the Los Angeles Rams team that won it all in 2022, he caught two passes for 52 yards and a touchdown in that Super Bowl win.
Notably, OBJ started 28 games over three seasons with the Browns. During that time he had 1,586 receiving yards and seven touchdowns with Cleveland. The experiment of Baker Mayfield paired with Beckham never worked out.
There's no reason to expect the Browns to sign Beckham Jr., thought here is an argument to make for him filling in as a slot option. This is likely just the Browns doing due diligence on a still-talented player.
