Browns Waive Fourth Year Cornerback With Injury Designation

Cleveland Browns opened up a roster spot by cutting a fourth year defensive back with an injury designation.

Cleveland Browns made a roster move on Saturday by parting ways with cornerback BoPete Keyes. The team n announced that Keyed was waived with an injury designation due to a finger injury. This now leaves the Browns an open roster spot they can take advantage of.

Keyes was a seventh-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2020. He played in eight games as a rookie before being cut. The Indianapolis Colts claimed Keyes and he appeared in four games for them during the 2021 season.

After being cut by the Colts, Keyes was with the New England Patriots briefly. Following that stint, Keyes ended up with the Chicago Bears and appeared in a single game. Overall, Keyes has played in 13 games since entering the NFL.

Keyes was signed by the Browns back on July 6. It will now be interesting to see what the Browns do with their open roster spot. Expect it to be filled sometime after the team returns to Berea tomorrow evening.
