Denzel Ward Makes Bold Statement on 2023 Browns
Cleveland Browns are back at it prepping to begin their 2023 season, one in which they hope to take a step forward and into the playoffs. Cornerback Denzel Ward made a bold claim when it came to this year’s team.
Ward believes that this is the most talented roster that he has been on as a member of the Browns. Ward is entering his sixth season with the Browns and has two Pro Bowl nods to his name.
“You can have a lot of talent but you have to bring all the pieces together,” Ward stated.
The former Ohio State Buckeye said from top to bottom it’s the best roster in his time in Cleveland, but he pointed out that it takes more than talent.
“There’s a lot of talent around the league. We just have to put it all together. That’s what we’re doing bringing all the guys here to (the) Greenbrier. Just focusing on what we have to focus on and taking it a day at a time.”
Cleveland made a big addition in defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz who will call the defense. Cleveland added pieces to the defensive line in Dalvin Tomlinson, Siaki Ika, Maurice Hurst, Za’Darius Smith, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, and Trysten Hill. On the back end, Cleveland brought in Juan Thornhill and Rodney McLeod.
Cleveland may have the most talented roster they’ve had in some time, but that doesn’t win football games alone as Ward said. The AFC is going to be a gauntlet, one the Browns are preparing for now.
