WATCH: QB Deshaun Watson Making big Plays as Browns Start Mandatory Camp

It is safe to say that quarterback Deshaun Watson is ready to go on day one of Cleveland Browns mandatory minicamp.

As the Cleveland Browns are back on the field in Berea, starting quarterback Deshaun Watson looks perhaps the best he ever has in orange and brown. On the first day of the mandatory minicamp, Watson was letting it rip like we haven’t really seen since he joined the Browns.

On this pass Watson finds Amari Cooper streaking across the field on a crossing route. Cooper catches the ball and turns it upfield for a larger gain. Having had off-season surgery on a core muscle, Cooper looks to have recovered nicely.

Then, it was Watson finding free agent acquisition Marquise Goodwin for a big gain. After Goodwin cut his route off, Watson delivered a ball and Goodwin outraced the defense until he ran out of room on the sideline.

Watson found Jaelon Darden deep downfield and hit him right in the bread basket for a deep connection. Darden has stood out at times for the Browns in practice since he joined the team last season.

Later on, Watson was able to connect with Elijah Moore just short of the goal line. This should be a duo we see plenty of in 2023.

Donovan Peoples-Jones made a nice catch in the end zone where he was able to get both feet down for six.

Of course, it is just minicamp and a lot of the work is in a 7-on-7 environment but Watson looks on the money, a good sign for the Browns as he’s in his first real offseason with the team.

Much of the work is done at a jogging pace at this point in the offseason but this is exactly what you want to see.
