Browns Place Marquise Goodwin on non-Football Illness List to Start Training Camp With Serious Issue

Cleveland Browns made a few roster moves to start training camp, including Marquise Goodwin to the non-football illness list.

On a serious note, the Cleveland Browns will be without wide receiver Marquise Goodwin to start training camp due to blood clots the team announced. Cleveland placed three other players on the non-injury football list too.

A simple checkup revealed that the Browns’ new wide receiver addition was dealing with the clots in his legs and lungs.

"It was really alarming at first because I've experienced injury throughout my career, but it's never been anything like this that could turn into something detrimental if it's not taken care of," he said. "It was frightening at first, but now I'm at ease with it. I've prayed and just given it over to God. It's out of my control, and the only thing I can control is my effort and attitude and how I approach each day moving forward."

Additionally, the Browns placed wide receivers Anthony Schwartz and Michael Woods on the non-football injury list, along with guard Colby Gossett. Schwartz is dealing with a hamstring, while Woods will miss the season with an Achilles injury. For Gossett, it is a foot injury keeping him sidelined.

Linebackers Sione Takitaki and Anthony Walker Jr. were not designated to a list, which is a good sign they’re pretty healthy after suffering season-ending injuries last year.

Cleveland begins practice as a whole team tomorrow at the Greenbrier in West Virginia, and at least for now, these four players will not be on the practice field.
