Browns Deshaun Watson Keeps Stance on DeAndre Hopkins, Likes Where he is at Right now

Cleveland Browns continue to be rumored into the mix for free agent wideout DeAndre Hopkins. On Wednesday, his former teammate and current Browns Qb Deshaun Watson was asked if the team was pursuing Hopkins.
“I have no idea. That's more of an AB (Andrew Berry) or Kevin (Stefanski) question. I have no idea where that stands,” said Watson.
Watson is standing on the front that the Browns would love to have the five-time Pro Bowl player and be able to throw him into the mix.
“Of course, we would love to have him and we'll see how that goes."
The story to begin the season will be all about did Watson shake off the rust that many believed he suffered from in 2022. So far through mini camp he looks like a different player from last year but even he believes he will have to get out there and see.
"We'll figure out Week 1 in Cleveland Browns Stadium against Cincinnati. We have a long way to go before I can answer that,” Watson explained.
Watson is in his first normal offseason with the Browns after the impending suspension that caused him to miss 11 games in 2022. Cleveland’s quarterback has a fresh outlook on this season.
“I'm very excited,” said Watson. “I like the weight on my shoulders, show what I got and lead this team to a lot of victories. That's where I want to get to."
In terms of where he was at last year with the offense, Watson likes where he is at this offseason. Since joining the Browns, Watson has had a great relationship with Stefanski and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt.
“I'm pretty far ahead of where I was last year. Being a year in, being able to talk to Kevin (Stefanski) and AP (Alex Van Pelt) about what we want to do, being confident about it, it allows me to play faster."
