In this story:

Cleveland Browns’ two starting guards have been recognized as some of the best in the NFL at their position. In a study done by ESPN — coaches, players, scouts, and executives voted on the top guards in the NFL. The results landed two Browns in the top-14 of the rankings.

The top 10 of the voting went as follows when it comes to the top guards in the NFL:

  1. Zach Martin – Dallas Cowboys
  2. Joe Thuney – Kansas City Chiefs
  3. Quenton Nelson – Indianapolis Colts
  4. Elgton Jenkins – Green Bay Packers
  5. Joel Bitonio – Cleveland Browns
  6. Jason Kelce – Philadelphia Eagles
  7. Chris Lindstrom – Atlanta Falcons
  8. Creed Humphrey – Kansas City Chiefs
  9. Brandon Scherff – Jacksonville Jaguars
  10. Frank Ragnow – Detroit Lions

Heading into year No. 10, Bitonio is still thought of as a top-five guard in the NFL. For the last couple of years, he has been playing the best ball of his career with two All-Pro nods to show for it. Bitonio has been to the last five Pro Bowls and doesn’t look to be slowing down.

Following the top 10, the following players were named honorable mention:

  • Erik McCoy – New Orleans Saints
  • Trey Smith – Kansas City Chiefs
  • Landon Dickerson – Philadelphia Eagles
  • Wyatt Teller – Cleveland Browns
  • Mike Onwenu – New England Patriots

So, overall, Wyatt Teller is No. 14 in the rankings. It’s a bit down from where he would of been a couple of years ago but he’s struggled with consistency as of late. In 2022, Teller was not the same player he was in 2020 when he broke out for the Browns. In both 2020 and 2021, Teller was a second-team recipient on the All-Pro list.

Additionally, the following players received votes, too:

  • Alijah Vera-Tucker – New York Jets
  • Laken Tomlinson – New York Jets
  • Ryan Jensen – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Ryan Kelly – Indianapolis Colts
  • Quinn Meinerz – Denver Broncos

If Cleveland wants to get back to having a top-3 offensive line in the NFL during the 2023 season, they’ll need their two guards to continue to make things happen. That combined with good health could pave the way for a big-time offense on the horizon.
