Chargers tabbed as free agent destination where Giants star could 'blow up'

The Los Angeles Chargers will be looking to add skill position players this offseason. One move could show the team is ready to bring in more weapons for Justin Herbert with the addition of a New York Giants star.

It was the ultimate conversation during the entire 2024 season for the Los Angeles Chargers and their fanbase.

This team has to add more weapons on offense. Selecting wide receiver Ladd McConkey in the 2024 NFL was the right start.

However, now it is time for the team to add even more. Whether that be through the 2025 draft or free agency, the Chargers have to address the depth at wide receiver.

Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report may have found the perfect free-agent wide receiver to fit the offense in Los Angeles.

"Y'all see what Saquon Barkley just did when he was finally free of the New York Giants offense? I'm not saying Darius Slayton is another Barkley, but the guy truly has the game-breaking ability to excel to a whole other degree in an offense that is even remotely capable and consistent,"

"The 28-year-old Slayton still managed to go over 700 yards four times in a six-year run with the G-Men. It's possible that run isn't over, but considering the state of the Giants at the quarterback position, he'd be smart to get out of town as a free agent in 2025."

It may not be the name Chargers fans are hoping for, but maybe with an actual quarterback, Slayton's numbers will continue to rise.
