Chargers News: Jim Harbaugh Will Reportedly Bring Staff From Michigan To LA

NFL insider Aaron Wilson believes Jim Harbaugh could bring some of his fellow coordinators to Los Angeles.

Your Los Angeles Chargers and Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh are set to meet for a second interview today in Los Angeles.

According to many experts and pundits, it's not a matter of 'if' but 'when' Harbaugh becomes the next Charger head coach. That, Charger fans, could happen as early as today.

When/if it does take place, NFL insider Aaron Wilson of KPCR 2 Houston reports that Harbaugh would bring along Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and son Jay Harbaugh, who is the running backs/ assistant special teams coach.

Minter has been in Michigan as their DC for two years, leading the Wolverines to new heights. He's led the Wolverines' defense to a top-10 defensive unit in his first season at the helm. In 2022, the defense ranked number six in total defense, seven in scoring defense and rushing defense, and five in pass-efficient defense.

The Chargers were ranked among the bottom in many of these significant defensive categories. Minter, along with Harbaugh, who is a great culture setter, could change that in no time.

As for Harbaugh's son, Jay, he's been at Michigan for nine years, as long as his dad has. Jay has coached the running backs and tight ends for four seasons and led five players to All-Big Ten honors, including three first-team accolades.

These guys are just not doing this in college but with a program that has accumulated a ton of pro-level talent. There's no doubt in my mind they could do the same in Los Angeles under Harbaugh and his leadership.

A new era is upon us, Charger fans. Bolt fans will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and this is just the beginning.

It's inevitable, folks.
