Chargers News: Denver Loves Receiver Who Put The Nail In The Coffin Of LA's Season Sunday

In this story:
Sunday’s Week 14 contest was one to forget as a Los Angeles Chargers fan.
The Bolts brought no energy on both sides of the ball and fell and fell hard to their division rivals, the Denver Broncos, 24-7.
The Chargers failed to score a touchdown until the fourth quarter, their first touchdown since Week 12 of the fourth quarter in their loss to the Baltimore Ravens. It was an embarrassing display throughout, and on top of all that, Chargers QB Justin Herbert is out for the rest of the season with a broken index finger in his right hand.
There’s more, though, Charger fans. The Broncos have turned things around and are in prime position for their first playoff appearance since 2015. Denver proved to be the superior team, and it was all thanks to their star quarterback Russell Wilson, and their veteran wide receiver Courtland Sutton.
Wilson and Sutton connected all day, including their 46-yard connection, to put the game out of reach in the third quarter to go up 17-0 on the road.
Russell spoke on the deep connection between his wide receiver to Broncos team insider Ryan McFadden of The Denver Post.
“I think I had about 35 seconds on that play,” joked Wilson, who actually had roughly 6.5 seconds to scan the field before throwing in Sutton’s direction. “I went left (then) right. I went through my reads one, two, three, four (and) five, then back to (my first read) and Courtland, again.”

Russell had all day and then some to connect in the deep ball with his wide receiver one. The Broncos quarterback had all day with the lack of pass rush by the Chargers defense, and that touchdown pass was the nail in the coffin for the Bolts.
The Chargers have a tall task ahead of them for the remainder of their season, and without their QB1, their season looks all but over.
