How Bill Plaschke Feels About Chargers Hire Of Jim Harbaugh

In this story:
Your Los Angeles Chargers' hiring of new head coach Jim Harbaugh has the football world buzzing. This pairing had been linked together for some time now, and it finally came to fruition earlier this week.
The majority of the talk has been about how the Chargers will now be able to act like the powerhouse they've always had the chance to be. Led by quarterback Justin Herbert, the Bolts could be one of the sleeper teams for next season depending on how the rest of the offseason goes.
Long-time columnist Bill Plaschke of The Los Angeles Times made his opinion known after the hire. Like so many others, he was ecstatic about Harbaugh coming to town.
"The Chargers finally get it," Plaschke wrote. "The Chargers finally got it. Seven years after barging into Los Angeles amid a cacophony of catcalls, the Chargers finally figured out how to quiet the doubters, capture the buzz and take a significant bite out of the market. They finally hired a nationally celebrated figure who will cause a commotion, raise a ruckus, and, oh yeah, win football games."
Per Bill Plaschke of The Los Angeles Times
Since arriving in Los Angeles, the Chargers have been fighting an uphill battle to be relevant in the city. With the Los Angeles Rams winning the Super Bowl in 2021, that notion got pushed even more so.
But with Harbaugh in the mix now, the Chargers have some flare. They have a sense of relevancy, and hopefully, it translates over to the football field.
"When is the last time the Chargers made the bold statement that they care only about winning? Never," Plaschke continued. "They’ve only won two playoff games in 15 years. But they just hired an eccentric, rumpled, bespectacled 60-year-old football lifer who has done nothing but win, at every stop..."

This signing is a statement that they are here to stay. They want to take over the city, and this is the first step to doing so. The Chargers got their guy, and now the real work starts.
