Will Dallas Cowboys Starters Play vs Cardinals in Week 2 of NFL Preseason?

The Dallas Cowboys will play their penultimate game of the 2026 NFL preseason on Saturday night, with several players fighting for their roster spots.

The Dallas Cowboys will be back on the gridiron on Saturday night for another NFC showdown on the road in Week 2 of the NFL preseason. Dallas made the trip to Glendale and will be taking on the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.

Kick off is set for 10:00 p.m. ET on the NFL Network, so get your energy drinks ready, because it's going to be a long night.

Unfortunately, the team will once again be without a majority of its starters, which was the plan for the preseason all along. Before training camp even began, head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed that starters would be held out of action.

We’re not going to play a lot of our starters during the preseason,” Schottenheimer said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “There’s something to the young guys playing a little bit, and we do it in the first two games. I think that’s part of it. Usually, you don’t play many of those guys in the third preseason game, but it’s something that we’re very serious about.”

But while there will not be many starters on the field, there is a lot to keep an eye on. Week 1 of the preseason saw the emergence of wide receiver Camden Brown as a legitimate threat to make the 53-man roster, while we will also see how the depth chart along the offensive line will play out.

There is the crucial backup quarterback competition, and some rotational roles that will need to be determined along the defensive line and in the secondary. So there may not be star power, but the players on the field on Saturday night could ultimately make or break Dallas' 2026 campaign.
