DraftKings Review

The DraftKings app might be the sportsbook's best feature, but DraftKings' sportsbook promos and bonuses aren't far behind. We recommend the 'bet and get' bonus offer over the $1,000 deposit match to most bettors, but all new customers have the option to take advantage of both offers.

Up to $1,000 deposit match

In addition to DraftKings' 'bet and get' offer, all new customers are eligible to receive a 20% deposit match worth up to $1,000 in bonus bets. However, as you'll see below, this offer is much more difficult to unlock for the casual bettor. Below are some important factors to consider about this offer, along with the most important terms and conditions.

• A $5,000 initial deposit is required to claim the full $1,000 bonus.
• DraftKings will release $1 of your bonus funds for every $25 that you bet on wagers with odds of -300 or longer. Therefore, you have to wager $25,000 to unlock the full bonus.
• You need to wager the full bonus amount within 90 days to withdraw any winnings (1x playthrough).

We took advantage of this offer, depositing $2,500 to receive a $500 bonus. As expected, we received the full bonus after wagering a total of $12,500 within our first 90 days.

For new bettors who place small wagers sporadically, this offer will not provide as much value. However, the good news is that if you're betting smaller amounts each day, the DraftKings' secondary welcome offer is a no-brainer.

DraftKings King of the Court

DraftKings’ King of the Court promo runs all NBA season long, giving players the chance to win a share of $1 million in prizes. After opting in, users can apply a single-use token to a qualifying $5+ pregame NBA player prop bet with odds of -200 or longer.

If the selected player leads the day in combined points, rebounds, and assists, the bettor earns a share of the $1 million prize pool in bonus bets. Tokens expire before the day’s final NBA game, and bonus bets must be used within seven days.

Same-game parlay boosts

DraftKings provides plenty of same-game parlay boosts throughout the season, reinforcing its status as one of the top parlay betting sites. You'll find these for most major sports, with even more frequent boosts during big events, primetime games, and special occasions.

Sport-specific boosts and offers

Whether it’s soccer, hockey, football, or basketball, DraftKings offers promos and incentives from which all players can benefit. These promos come and go throughout the season, depending on what sports are in action. 

Referral bonus

DraftKings offers sportsbook referral bonuses that reward you for getting others to sign up using your unique referral link. Both you and your friend(s) can receive a 100% match up to $100 in bonus bets, based on your friend’s first deposit.

General bonuses

Like any other sportsbook, DraftKings wants players to bet on their platform. Now and then, DK sportsbook will send customers a small bonus bet for seemingly no reason. You'll notice that this usually happens if you haven't played for a while. While a bonus bet is always a nice gesture, it's also a way for DraftKings to get you back on the betting train. DraftKings’ recognizable black and green color scheme provides an easy-to-read interface with a bit of pop. On first blush, there’s a lot to take in, but we find it to be quite organized and user-friendly once you get the hang of it. 

When you log in, you’ll see a horizontal scrolling bar of all the sports available. Underneath, DK will have its featured specials of the day, like SGP boosts, touchdown promos, parlay bonuses, and more.

The bottom five-piece menu never changes, no matter how many rabbit holes you dive into. You'll always quickly be able to access the home button, as well as your bet slip and rewards, the live betting section, and DraftKings Casino — if you're located in CT, MI, NJ, PA, or WV.

🏎️ App performance

There's nothing more frustrating as a sports bettor than when an app lags or crashes as you're trying to get a last-minute bet in. Thankfully, we've never experienced such atrocities with DraftKings. The app is lightning fast and super responsive, even during peak usage like minutes before the NFL Sunday 1:00 PM slot.

The DraftKings app has earned solid ratings from both Android and Apple users. Here are a few of the key points that come up frequently in DraftKings reviews in the App Store and on Google Play.

Fast withdrawals

Many reviewers have highlighted fast withdrawals as one of their DraftKings favorite features, and we can attest to that. It’s common to receive a withdrawal within 24 hours, and we've experienced even faster payouts — under 30 minutes — when using debit cards.

Big bettors get rewarded

The suggestion here is that DraftKings prioritizes big(ger) bettors with their promos and offerings. And, sure, it makes sense in theory that a company will want to provide extra love for its bigger spenders. However, we have never felt that modest or recreational bettors are neglected.  

Odds could be better

Some users have criticized the odds at DraftKings, referencing unfriendly lines on NBA and NFL props markets compared to FanDuel. While there are times that this could be true, there are also many opportunities to find favorable odds at DK. DraftKings is often the first book to open props markets, which savvy bettors can jump on to get early value. 

🛠 Improvements needed

While DraftKings is the best sports betting app, the elephant in the room is its lack of live chat. While you can request a callback, fill out an online form, peruse the helpdesk articles, or talk to a chatbot, there's still a glaring need for 24/7 live support. Sure, you might be able to find what you’re looking for through its many articles that the bot will direct you to, but we’re guessing that 99% of the time, you'd prefer to chat with a human.

While we find DraftKings' odds to be competitive, finding the best odds is a practice that relies on an individual bettor’s diligence and, frankly, timing. Like most sportsbooks, DraftKings reacts in a timely manner to significant news ahead of games, like player injuries and weather concerns.

One thing we really love about DK is that it seems to be one of the earliest books to post player props, allowing you to pounce on favorable lines before the money starts pouring in. For example, we recently jumped on an NBA alternative line of Tyrese Maxey to score 25+ points at +120 odds. When we checked the line before game time, the odds had fallen to +105. 

We've also noticed that DraftKings tends to provide friendly odds on futures favorites. Below, you'll see that Lando Norris has significantly longer odds at DK than at a rival betting site to win the F1 Championship.

You won’t have trouble finding any sport or betting market at DraftKings. The online sportsbook is one of the top college football betting sites, but also provides incredibly deep coverage of the following major North American leagues:

These markets can include alternate lines, same-game parlays, and props, such as team, game, and player props. For NFL games, DraftKings offers prop markets not found in many books, including extensive defense and special team props (D/ST) that cover a wide range of outcomes, from the longest field goal to scoring a safety to the team with the most punts. They also offer a wide variety of anytime TD props, including first TD scorer markets and 2+ TDs. At the time of writing, several other sportsbooks aren’t offering any of the above markets and have only a fraction of the NFL props that DraftKings currently lists.

The same can be said about NBA games. A quick glance at NBA props markets reveals that DraftKings offers unique player specials not currently available on competitor platforms, such as 'any player to score 40+ points,' head-to-head player props, and multiple player combo lines (points, rebounds, assists, etc.).

In our experience with DraftKings, depositing funds has always been quick and seamless. Players can use popular methods like debit cards, PayPal, bank transfer, Venmo, and Apple Pay, with funds typically available instantly. Credit cards, however, are not accepted.

💳 Payout speed 

Bettors don’t need to worry about extended wait times when cashing out, as DraftKings ranks as one of the fastest payout sportsbooks. Using a debit card can produce a withdrawal in hours, sometimes minutes, while other popular options like PayPal, Venmo, and Apple Pay typically deliver funds in under 24 hours. Notably, you cannot make a withdrawal to your credit cards, which is a feature we’d like to see added in the future.

✍️ Terms and conditions 

One of the finer points to remember regarding withdrawals is that bonus bets cannot be cashed out. Bettors only take home the winnings from their bonus bets, not the initial stake. We've noticed several Reddit users and App Store reviewers voice their displeasure with this common restriction.

⚡Live betting

DraftKings 'Live In-Game' section allows bettors to wager on dynamic odds in real-time once a game is underway. While betting odds and lines are naturally fluid, you will find this is true to an even larger degree when betting on live odds. The ability to wager on live odds presents opportunistic and shrewd bettors with chances to score more profit.

One of our favorite live features is called ‘Instant Tennis.’ It allows users to view a simulation of the match (including where the ball is being hit) and bet on every single point. Bettors can wager on every single serve, game, and point as they watch the match play out in simulation. 

🔢 Same-game parlays 

There's a plethora of same-game parlay (SGP) options at DraftKings. You can easily create your SGP by clicking on the 'SGP' icon on the game you choose. If you’re pressed for time, DraftKings also has ‘prebuilt’ SGPs for several games, allowing you to place a bet in seconds if you like what you see. You'll have plenty of opportunities to do so at the best NBA betting sites.

As part of their promotions, DraftKings also offers regular NFL parlay and same-game parlay profit boosts, which work to enhance any winnings from your SGP. 

💵 Early Exit

DraftKings’ Early Exit program helps protect your bets if a key player leaves a game early due to injury and doesn’t return. For single bets, you’ll get your original stake back as a cash credit if your wager qualifies.

For parlays and same-game parlays, the affected leg is removed and your odds are recalculated based on the remaining legs. If those remaining legs win, you get paid at the new adjusted odds, giving you peace of mind even when unforeseen injuries impact your bet.

💰 Early cash out 

Early cash out allows you to close out a bet and claim winnings — or mitigate losses — prior to the conclusion of a contest. It will be up to you if you want to let it ride or take the money and run. Early cash out isn’t available for all bets at DraftKings. You can check your 'open bets' to see if your wager qualifies.

▶️ Live streaming 

You'll find DraftKings features various live-streaming options across its platform. Bettors must wager on an event in order to unlock the in-app streaming of sporting events. Impressively, you can stream NFL games on the app with its BetVision function. This is a rarity in the industry and a huge win for DK users.

🎰 Casino options 

The DraftKings Casino has loads of betting options, including table games such as blackjack, roulette, and craps. It also offers slots and exclusive casino games. During our DraftKings review, we found the following titles:

The downside? DraftKings Casino is only available in legal iGaming states, meaning you're out of luck if you're not physically located in CT, MI, NJ, PA, or WV.

🤝 Loyalty program 

The Dynasty Rewards loyalty program provides players with gifting options spanning from luxury goods to premier experiences. Players earn Crowns and Tier Credits for every dollar spent across DraftKings and Golden Nugget Online Casino products. Crowns are eligible to be redeemed for DK Dollars, contest entries, and varying items in the Dynasty Store. 

You can reach customer support through the DraftKings app by navigating to your account page and scrolling down to the 'Help Center' tab. As is the case with most customer support operations at big brands, they try to address your issue through a number of featured articles — a collection of frequently asked problems and concerns.

If you can't resolve your issue, you can access customer support through DraftKings' in-app chatbot or contact them via phone, email, or X. As high as we rate DraftKings in our sportsbook review, it will score even higher in the future with more tailored customer support, including live chat with a real person.

Here's a recent exchange we had with the chatbot after encountering a login issue. As you can see, the questions and answers are preloaded. While not ideal, it still solved our issue this time.
