On Saturday, December 16th at 5:45 PM ET, the Conference USA newcomer New Mexico State Aggies will take on the Fresno State Bulldogs in the New Mexico Bowl.

The Aggies are coming off of a Conference USA championship loss to the Liberty Flames who will be playing in the Fiesta Bowl. Diego Pavia came out of the championship game early with an elbow injury and it is still in question whether he will play in the Aggies game.

New Mexico State is coming off of one of the best years in program history, where they went 10-4 overall and 7-1 against the conference. The biggest win of the season was a 31-10 win against SEC opponent Auburn.

Wide receiver Jonathan Brady had himself a statement game in the conference championship, where he had four receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. Along with Brady, Trent Hudson had seven receptions 112 yards and two touchdowns.

For the Bulldogs, they will be without head coach Jeff Tedford who is stepping away from his role due to health concerns. In the interim, linebackers coach Tim Skipper will be acting head coach through the bowl game. The Bulldogs finished the season with a strong 8-4 record and going 4-4 amongst the conference.

Quarterback Mikey Keene threw for 2,596 yards, 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions in a season, where the Bulldogs had two receivers who surpassed 500 receiving yards and one who was on the cusp of reaching that marker.

The Bulldogs ended the season on a three-game losing streak, which doesn't help their case against a New Mexico State team that has one of the best offenses in Conference USA.
