In this story:

The Los Angeles Dodgers enjoyed an off-day on Thursday as they traveled to Washington, D.C. to get set for a three-game series with the Washington Nationals that starts on Friday afternoon (morning in LA).

The Dodgers are 4-2 heading into the series against the 3-3 Nationals.

While the Dodgers were off on Thursday, they didn't fail to make headlines.

On social media, the Dodgers announced a brand new jersey for the 2026 season. For the first time in history, the Dodgers will have a blue jersey in their regular rotation. The Dodgers will wear them on the road.

In other news, two-way star Shohei Ohtani is off to a slow start at the plate, hitting just .167 (3-for-18) with zero home runs and zero runs batted in. He revealed why he's not happy with himself early in the year.

“I’ve been able to get on base, and that’s a good thing,” Ohtani said through interpreter Will Ireton. “But on pitches that I should be making impact, I’m not quite able to do that to the extent that I should be able to. That’s the part that I’m not quite happy about.”

Finally, outfielder James Tibbs III, acquired alongside outfielder Zach Ehrhard in a 2025 trade deadline deal with the Boston Red Sox for right-handed pitcher Dustin May, is already turning heads in Triple-A.

Tibbs has gone 13-for-26 (.500) with four home runs, 10 runs batted in and an OPS of 1.744 through the first six games of the Triple-A season. He's looking like a potential future superstar for LA — and the Dodgers got him along with another top prospect for a few months of Dustin May.

Not bad.
