The Baltimore Orioles have won each of their first two series of the season and will head to Pittsburgh to face the red-hot Pirates starting on Friday.
The Orioles (4-2) are coming off a win on Wednesday in which the game started five hours late due to rain and James McCann hit a two RBI walk-off hit to lift the Orioles to their second walk-off win so far this season.
But the Pirates (6-1) are on an unexpected hot streak to open the season.
Anthony Santander is the only Orioles hitter with two home runs this season, while Gunnar Henderson, Ryan Mountcastle, Cedric Mullins and Jordan Westburg each have one home run. Westburg’s home run was a walk-off.
Catcher Adley Rutschman is the team’s top hitter with a .333 batting average among qualified hitters. Mountcastle is also batting .300.
Corbin Burnes and Grayson Rodriguez each have one win this season out of the starting rotation, and Rodriguez will take his shot at win No. 2 against the Pirates.
