Former Cavalier LeBron James Is Not Retiring For A While

In this story:
For two decades, LeBron James has been one of the NBA’s premier players.
With unmatched consistency, the former Cleveland Cavaliers superstar has been named an NBA All-Star in 19 consecutive seasons.
Despite turning 39 years old this December, James remains the focal point of the Los Angeles Lakers.
In a recent commercial for Beats by Dre, James’s wife, Savannah, narrates a message reminding him how he wants to play in the NBA with his sons.
She says, “Tell them you’re not done ‘til you play with your son. Then do that, again.”

James first expressed his desire to play in the NBA with his eldest son, Bronny, in a February 2022 interview with The Athletic’s Jason Lloyd.
“My last year will be played with my son,” James said. “Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”
In this interview, James also created buzz among Cleveland fans by saying, “The door’s not closed on that,” regarding a potential third stint with the Cavaliers.
Then, in an August 2022 interview with Sports Illustrated’s Chris Ballard, James discussed wanting to play in the NBA with both Bronny and his youngest son, Bryce.
“I’ve always set out goals in my career, talked to the basketball gods, and they’ve listened to all of them. Hopefully they can listen to this last one, too.” James said.
Bronny will begin his first collegiate season at USC in two weeks, while Bryce is a high school junior with multiple Division I scholarship offers. Under current rules, they would be eligible for the 2024 and 2026 NBA Drafts, respectively.
Could the trio potentially play together for Cleveland one day? Cavaliers fans will have to wait and see.
