All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, but he is still being listed as available on the injury report for their next game vs. the Washington Wizards. Whether or not Irving decides to show up and play is to be determined, but the Nets have not ruled him out on their end.

A live television report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowksi explained the difficulty of Irving rejoining the Nets' locker room after requesting a trade, saying, "I think Kevin Durant was looking forward to playing with Kyrie Irving when he returns. It's difficult now for Kyrie Irving to walk back in this locker room between now and trade deadline and just go back to work."

If this is indeed true, it is hard to imagine Irving taking the court for Brooklyn just one day after requesting a trade, but he is indeed available to play. This will be an interesting situation to monitor, as players have previously opted to sit out while awaiting their trade request to be fulfilled.

Several possibilities remain between now and the trade deadline, and the NBA world will have to wait and see how things play out with Kyrie Irving and the Nets. There are of course those speculating that Irving's potential departure could lead to Kevin Durant also wanting out, which is also something that must be monitored.

For now, Kyrie Irving is listed as available to play vs. the Wizards.
