Report: Kevin Durant 'Surprised' by Kyrie Irving's Trade Request

In this story:
Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Ivring has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, as he and his camp were unhappy about stipulations that were placed on the contract extension he was offered. In a recent report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, it was revealed that Nets superstar Kevin Durant was surprised by Irving's trade request, joining several in the organization that did not see it coming:
The Athletic's Shams Charania revealed details of Irving's trade request, and how it was linked to stipulations on his future contract, writing that "The Nets recently offered Irving an extension with guarantee stipulations, according to league sources, an offer which was declined. Sources with direct knowledge of the negotiations who have been granted anonymity so that they could speak freely say that the extension offer was not well received and that there have been principle differences that have emerged between the Nets and Irving."
Perhaps Durant did not know about these failed negotiations, or did not believe they would lead to this, but he is reportedly surprised by Irving's request to be dealt ahead of the trade deadline. This of course places more focus on Durant's future in Brooklyn as well, with the superstar forward having already requested a trade out of Brooklyn over the summer. Should Irving be dealt, some believe Durant may also request out.
