Brooklyn Nets Standout’s Injury Report Status vs. Detroit Pistons

Nic Claxton is on the Brooklyn Nets' injury report for Saturday's game against the Detroit Pistons.

Gearing up for a Saturday night matchup against the Detroit Pistons, the Brooklyn Nets have one of their starters on the injury report.

The veteran center Nic Claxton continues to deal with a nasal fracture. As a result, the Nets have kept him on the injury report lately. However, the setback isn’t expected to affect his playing status against the Pistons on Saturday night.

According to the injury report, Claxton is available to take on Detroit. Therefore, his long healthy streak remains alive.

The last time Claxton missed action for Brooklyn was back in late December. He was ruled inactive against the Milwaukee Bucks. The matchup resulted in a 22-point loss for the Nets. In the following game, Claxton made his way back into the starting lineup to collect nearly 30 minutes of action.

Since then, Claxton has been available for the Nets for 46 games straight.

This year, Claxton appeared in 67 games for the Nets. He’s averaging 30 minutes per outing as a starter. Offensively, he’s been efficient from the field, making 63 percent of his eight shots per game. He produces 12 points per game.

Recognized as a glass-cleaner, Claxton has averaged double-digit rebounds per game this year. On a struggling Brooklyn team, he’s been a bright spot for them as they navigate through a year they won’t make the postseason.

With Claxton set to hit the free agency market this summer, the veteran center is a prospect that many teams will have an eye on throughout the final stretch of the year. While Saturday’s game won’t count for anything for both teams, Claxton’s performance down the stretch will be important from a personal standpoint.

Claxton and the Nets are set to tip-off with the Pistons at 7 PM ET.
