Suns Forward Kevin Durant Inks Lifetime Deal With Nike

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant will be wearing the famous swoosh for the rest of his days.

As the Phoenix Suns prepare for their second-round series against the Denver Nuggets, plenty of questions will be asked from both sides. Can Denver finally push through to the conference finals? Will the Suns' star power be enough to carry them against the West's top seed?

We will soon have those answers and more when Game 1 is underway tomorrow, yet what can't be questioned is the shoe choice of Suns forward Kevin Durant for the remainder of his playing days.

According to Boardroom, Durant is signing a lifetime deal with Nike. He becomes just the third basketball player behind Michael Jordan and LeBron James to accomplish the feat.

“When I first signed with Nike, I couldn’t have dreamed of how far we’d go in this partnership. We’ve done amazing work creatively and philanthropically. We’ve traveled the world together and built a business that will now last forever. I’m excited for the future and honored to be in rare company with this deal,” said Durant, who joined the company since his rookie campaign in 2007.

John Slusher - Nike EVP of Global Sports Marketing - said, “As one of best basketball players in the world, Kevin Durant has been an important part of the Nike family for the past 16 years. We look forward to continuing to serve the next generation of athletes together.”

Durant is preparing to release his sixteenth signature shoe at some point in the future. Fellow Suns star Devin Booker - who is also signed to the Nike brand - will be releasing his next spring.
