First Look at Bills Mafia's Broken Table Monument in New Stadium

For more than a decade now, breaking tables has become a tailgating tradition before Buffalo Bills games. The loyal fan base known as Bills Mafia began this tradition in 2015 and seeing fans jump through tables, WWE style, has become synonymous with home games in Orchard Park.

Love it or hate it, the tradition isn't going away anytime soon and the Bills recently proved they are willing to pay homage to these overly-excited fans. A video making the rounds on social media shows that the new Highmark Stadium features a giant broken table monument.

The 20-foot tall table is broken down the middle and will stand as a tribute to those fans who began throwing themselves through the tables during the team's long-running playoff drought.

Reaction to the Bills Mafia tribute has been mixed

As is often the case, social media reactions are mixed to the unveiling of the broken table monument. Bills on SI writer Alex Brasky took to X and asked fans for their thoughts on the giant piece of art.

Some don't believe that the monument should've been made, going as far as to call it embarrassing. Others are quick to say it's just fun, and they should allow people to enjoy some of the lighter moments. Other commenters have made jokes about it, saying it would be better to replace the table with a trophy case containing Lombardi trophies, which, of course, the Bills have yet to win

The new Highmark Stadium will be the Bills' home beginning this season, and it's the first time they've had a new stadium since 1973. In designing the stadium, creators made sure that they captured the heart of the city of Buffalo. They did this partially by using layered metals that tie into the city's industrial roots.

They also want the stadium to be something fans can enjoy year-round, so they created a 1.7-mile walking trail, known as Highmark Trail, which goes around the stadium and celebrates the team's history. There's also a family circle in front of the north entrance, which has three bison statues (a bull, cow, and a calf) symbolizing family. In this circle, there are several plaques honoring former players, which replaces their former wall of fame that was inside the old Highmark Stadium.

There's also going to be a heated surface on the field, as well as a canopy that will help protect fans from some of the weather, while still exposing players to the elements.

The first regular season game in the new stadium will take place in Week 2, as the Buffalo Bills host the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football on Sept. 17.
