Browns one of Four Teams Rumored to Land WR DeAndre Hopkins

Cleveland Browns look to be in the mix for the former All-Pro wideout.

As the market for former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins continues to heat up, the Cleveland Browns are one of a few teams in on the former All-Pro.

The Browns are joined by the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and New England Patriots for teams with interest in signing Hopkins, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. According to Schefter, there is doubt that he ends up in Buffalo. On the other hand, the Chiefs would have to find a way to make it work financially.

Hopkins recently signed with Kelton Krenshaw of Klutch Sports, who is based out of Cleveland Heights. That could be something of substance or it could be a coincidence. Hopkins could go to the Patriots and be perhaps their top target but he’s mentioned he wants to play with a top quarterback and Mac Jones is not that.

Deshaun Watson had a down six games for the Browns last year after missing 27 games but the Browns believe he bounces back in a big way in 2023. Watson and Hopkins have plenty of chemistry together and Watson has already said he wants Hopkins in Cleveland.

Now, with the interest there from Cleveland and other teams, Hopkins’ market could move rather fast. If it is Cleveland, the Browns would deploy one of the more talented wideout groups in the NFL in 2023.
