Ranking Eagles WRs After 10 Training Camp Practices: How Close Is Elijah Moore To Bubble

In this story:
The Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver battle has been one of the most intriguing ones of training camp. The WR2 battle was settled early, but so was the WR5.
There is another battle that emerged as a result of Darius Cooper playing well. Who is going to be the WR4? This battle will be settled over the preseason an din the next couple weeks.
After a week of practice, all the wide receivers on the roster were graded -- based on how they performed in training camp practice. This time, let's do wide receiver rankings with two weeks and 10 training camp practices in the books
Where does each wide receiver stand with Week 1 of the preseason this weekend?
1. DeVonta Smith
The Eagles aren't going to rush DeVonta Smith back from a hamstring injury, and nor should they. They can Smith in bubble wrap until Week 1 at this rate, since he will be the WR1.
This passing game can't flow without Smith, and they need him in order to win football games. Smith is set to take his game to the next level, but the Eagles have to make sure he's 100% on September 13.
2. Dontayvion Wicks
Wicks has taken the reins as the WR2, having a strong first week of practice. While Wicks has played well, Makai Lemon has been inured and Hollywood Brown has been underwhelming.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is a fan of Wicks, comparing him to Keenan Allen on multiple occasions. All Wicks has done is run routes well and catch the football, becoming a trusted weapon in the offense.
The Eagles just have to see Wicks play in a game. That will come Week 1.
3. Darius Cooper
There's a argument that Cooper could be ranked higher than Wicks. Every practice Cooper has shined, emerging from a bubble player to essentially a roster lock.
Cooper is more than a WR5 in this offense. He could be the WR4 and maybe even a WR3. Thanks to Wicks and Cooer, the Eagles can take this slowly with Makai Lemon (which isn't the most ideal scenario).
If the Eagles are looking for a red zone target, Cooper may be the guy.
4. Elijah Moore
Moore has played his way to a roster afterthought on the roster bubble, maybe even a roster spot (pending on if he can beat out Hollywood Brown). The Eagles could use a slot receiver with makai Lemon on the mend, which is where Moore enters the picture.
Moore has typically been a good route runner, and a fresh start with the Eagles may have been what he needed. He's making it difficult for the Eagles to cut him.
5. Hollywood Brown
Brown has been underwhelming in camp, getting outplayed by Cooper and Moore. He was a dark horse for the No. 2 spot in camp, but has fallen to competing for a roster spot. The Eagles have $5 million reasons to stick with Brown, and he'll get every opportunity this preseason.
The final roster spot may be between Brown and Moore. This preseason will be important for both wideouts.
6. Makai Lemon
Lemon has missed a week of practice, but even when he was practicing the rookie first-round pick wasn't standing out. Fair to state Lemon has been a disappointment so far.
Every practice Lemon misses, he does't get the opportunity to work with Jalen Hurts and the offense. The timing hasn't been there with Hurts because Lemon hasn't practiced and he has a lot of catching up to do.
Don't expect Lemon to be a major contributor in this offense come Week 1 at this rate.
7. Quez Watkins
Watkins still has the speed to make plays, but he's a long shot to make this roster. He has gotten open on some deep balls this camp, even if the results haven't been there.
Perhaps Watkins ends up on the practice squad again. He's adapted to the new offense.
8. Johnny Wilson
The success in the spring hasn't translated in the summer. Cooper took the WR5 job from Wilson early, and Wilson hasn't been a threat for the job. He's unlikely to make the roster at this point, no matter how well he blocks.
9. Britain Covey
Covey had a good start to training camp prior to a hamstring injury keeping him out for around a week. The best chance Covey has of making this roster is punt returner, but even that is a long shot.
10. Erik Ezukanma
Another player who could find a way onto this team as kick returner, Ezukanma has made a few nice plays in training camp. He's still considered a roster long shot.
11. Samori Toure
The former seventh-round pick has made some nice catches in camp, even getting some looks with the second team due to all the injuries at wide receiver. Toure will get a lot of reps this preseason.
12. Danny Gray
The former minicamp standout -- and third-round pick of the 49ers -- hasn't been noticeable this summer. He's another one that could improve his stock this preseason.
