Seahawks Players Who Have to Step After Jake Bobo's Injury

In this story:
It has been a difficult offseason for many teams as some stars and key players suffered serious injuries. The Seattle Seahawks haven’t hit as hard as other teams, but that doesn’t mean they are immune to the injury bug. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, they might be without a key role player and fan-favorite in wide receiver Jake Bobo for a while.
In Friday’s joint practice with the Tennessee Titans, Bobo reportedly suffered a “serious” knee injury, as confirmed by head coach Mike Macdonald. It isn’t confirmed if his injury is season-ending or an ACL tear, but there are a lot of signs leading up to it.
The Seahawks have the remainder of the preseason to find a suitable replacement on the field. Some players come to mind immediately while others need to be developed.
Tight End Elijah Arroyo

Arroyo had a productive beginning of his rookie season in 2025. He caught 15 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown in 13 games, with four being starts. Arroyo was a reliable playmaker at times before nagging injuries slowed him down.
There has been a big improvement with Arroyo this offseason. He looks more efficient as a pass-catcher and a route-runner. He is playing in a new offense that might favor his great athleticism and his dynamic capability to line up at the line of scrimmage or spread out. Arroyo was a potential breakout candidate this season, but now the expectations are pushed on him.
Wide Receiver Montorie Foster Jr.
The Seahawks know how to get the most out of undrafted young players. Outside linebacker Drake Thomas, safety Ty Okada and Bobo are among the current successful players to step up from the bottom of the roster barrel to either starter or key role player. Foster might be the next in line for players labeled diamonds in the rough.
Foster had a great spring and he is one of the fastest-rising players this training camp and preseason. Shortly before the Seahawks’ first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys, he was participating with the first-team offense.
He had great moments against Dallas, but he still has some things to learn. He was trending towards making the roster, but now he is essentially a current key backup. Foster will need to protect his body enough to ensure he makes the roster. He went down with leg cramps like starting right tackle Abraham Lucas during Friday's practice with the Titans.
Wide Receivers Cody White or Emmanuel Henderson

There will be position battles through the remainder of the offseason. Several wide receivers have been capable contenders to get on the field. Foster was among the serious contenders. With him already projected to take a roster spot, the Seahawks need another receiver to step up, and potentially, take a roster spot.
Two of the top favorites following Foster are seventh-year veteran Cody White and rookie and former fifth-round pick Emmanuel Henderson. White has been with the Seahawks since 2023 and knows the system. He possesses a great frame, athleticism and run-blocking. Henderson is a fast and explosive vertical route runner. This makes him a potential gunner going into the season.
