NFL analyst thinks one Seahawks UDFA could 'make an impact' in 2025

In this story:
The Seattle Seahawks entered the 2025 NFL draft with 10 total picks but left with 11 new players after completing trades on Days 2 and 3. While many have praised the team for addressing needs while getting good value, the draft doesn't end with Round 7.
The race to sign undrafted players has become a key part of draft weekend. The Seahawks added 19 undrafted free agents, including a few players who were projected as Day 3 picks.
While the overall volume of this UDFA class could make it tough to stand out, there are a few players with a legitimate shot to make the roster. Pro Football Sports Network released a new feature breaking down one potential impact player from each team's UDFA class.
LSU cornerback Zy Alexander was named Seattle's undrafted free agent who could "make an impact" in 2025.
"The secondary is already a pretty strong group, led by Devon Witherspoon, Riq Woolen, and Julian Love," wrote PFSN's Brandon Austin. "Still, they could add much-needed depth with a corner who surprisingly went undrafted. Zy Alexander offers a blend of size, athleticism, and football instincts that make him a strong candidate to contribute early. At 6'2" and nearly 200 pounds, he has the frame teams covet on the outside, and he knows how to use it."

The physical tools are a good start for any undrafted player attempting to make a 53-man roster, but Alexander also has the production to match his size.
"Alexander's 13 career interceptions across FCS and SEC play demonstrate his knack for being around the football," continued Austin. "He will have to refine his technique in press coverage, but his combination of size, instincts, and production makes him an ideal fit for Mike Macdonald's defense in Seattle."
The LSU standout recorded a Pro Football Focus coverage grade of 81.8, and a zone coverage grade of 80.0 for the Tigers last season. While it will surely be an uphill battle, Alexander has the talent to make the transition to the NFL.
