Dodgers Lineup vs Royals: Teoscar Hernandez Out, Alex Call Starting

The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to win their series against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers took Monday's series opener, 6-5, in a back-and-forth game that ended in a much-needed save from closer Edwin Díaz.

On Tuesday, the Dodgers will look to win their first series since July, having dropped their last three series to this point.

They'll be getting a special guest off the injured list to help them do it.

Dodgers vs Royals Pitching Matchup on Tuesday

Left-handed pitcher Blake Snell is off the injured list and set to make his second start of the 2026 season on Tuesday night against the Royals.

Snell opened the season on the injured list due to shoulder inflammation. He then returned on May 9 and made one start against the Atlanta Braves — allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits over three innings — before going right back on the IL and undergoing surgery to remove loose bodies in his elbow.

Three months later, Snell is back and feeling better than ever. The Dodgers hope that he'll now be back for good, helping LA through the stretch run and postseason.

Opposite Snell will be veteran right-hander Michael Wacha, who's making his 24th start of the season.

Wacha has a 3.44 ERA across 144 innings this season. He was an All-Star this year for the second time in his 14-year career.

Wacha has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last four starts since the All-Star break, sporting a 1.82 ERA over 24.2 innings in that time.

Call is getting a rare start, his first since July 21 and just his seventh appearance overall. He's replacing Teoscar Hernández, who's getting the day off amid his struggles.

Elsewhere, Freeman has moved up to the No. 2 hole, with Pages hitting third and Tucker in the cleanup spot.
