In this story:

Los Angeles Lakers fans are known for being quite negative whenever the team fails to win it all, demanding excellence from the team and nothing else.

The entire culture of the Lakes is around constantly being in the playoffs and fighting for as many wins as possible. There are decades of Laker dominance in NBA history, and fans are always looking to add another chapter to the legacy.

New findings from Vegas Insider, however, seem to indicate that Lakers fans are not among the most negative; rather, they are instead in the middle of the pack.

In the findings from the study, the Lakers fanbase only has 28.8% negative comments, ranking in 14th place.

The findings are quite surprising given the dramatic nature of Laker fans, how are typically not happy unless the team is holding the Larry O'Brien trophy.

There could be an effect of recently acquiring Luka Doncic, a young and promising player who is already MVP caliber.

He presents an opportunity for fans to look towards the future and feel safe about life after Lebron James eventually retires.

The Lakers have reached the playoffs and made a leap forward in terms of play style with new coach JJ Redick.

The Lakers' trade partner for Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks, rank at the top of the list in terms of negativity. Mavs fans had a close connection with Doncic since they drafted him, which made it all the more painful when general manager Nico Harrison traded him away.

There were several chants at Mavs game calling for the firing of Harrison.

The second highest is the Lakers' biggest rivals, the Boston Celtics, who have the same lofty standards that the Lakers have, while having the second-most negativity.

The Lakers are now sitting pretty with Doncic, James, and guard Austin Reaves, who form a solid core for the coming season, while the Celtics have a murky outlook for the future due to Jayson Tatum's injury.
