Another XFL Player Invited to Browns Camp

Cleveland Browns continue to build their minicamp roster out as another XFL player has been invited to camp. LB Deandre Johnson is the latest to be invited for a workout with the Browns, he joins XFL Defensive Player of the Year Pita Taumoepenu as a pair of XFL players who have cemented workouts with the Browns.

The former Tennessee product played four years there, then a fifth year with the Hurricanes of Miami. During his college career, Johnson was an outside linebacker who got after the quarterback with 14.5 total collegiate sacks. Johnson also recorded 24 tackles for a loss in college.

In 2022, Johnson spent some time with the Miami Dolphins in training camp and the preseason. This spring it has been the XFL for Johnson, where he played in nine games, made 15 tackles, and a sack.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 252 pounds, Cleveland would likely want him to put his hand in the dirt and get after the quarterback, despite being listed as a linebacker.

The Browns continue to look down every Avenue to find players that could potentially be hidden gems, a couple of those happen to come over from the XFL.
