Is DeAndre Hopkins Trade Off Table for Ravens-Cardinals?

The Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens may not be suitable trade partners after the Ravens drafted receiver Zay Flowers.

As the 2023 NFL Draft leaks into Day 2, the Arizona Cardinals still have possession of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

That of course is no bad problem to have considering his talents - though the Cardinals have reportedly been shopping him since the early parts of the offseason.

We've been through events such as the Senior Bowl, NFL Combine, free agency and now the first day of the NFL Draft - and no deal has been done.

There were reports earlier in the week suggesting the Baltimore Ravens were closing in on a deal for Hopkins, though nothing has come to fruition.

The Ravens instead took WR Zay Flowers with their first-round pick, adding to a receiving corps that features Odell Beckham Jr. and Rashod Bateman. With Mark Andrews at tight end and Lamar Jackson at quarterback, Baltimore could very well be set on the offensive side of the ball.

Is a potential deal off between the two sides?

From a football standpoint, probably. Baltimore would be absolutely stacked at receiver - even for a team that typically runs the football more than anybody else in the league.

From a compensation perspective, a possible deal could still be worked out. There was some thought that the Cardinals could package their early second-round pick and Hopkins to obtain Baltimore's first-round pick.

That's now not possible, but the expected compensation for Hopkins (a Day 2 pick) absolutely remains on the table, whether that's from Baltimore or somewhere else.

NBC's Mike Florio reported earlier yesterday the Cardinals and Tennessee Titans were working on a deal that involved Hopkins and the No. 3 pick.

Teams such as the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs are also ones to monitor for a potential trade.

Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort says he doesn't expect to see a DeAndre Hopkins trade at any point.

"I don't foresee that happening. I don't know what is going to happen here in the next couple of days. Right now I don't foresee that happening, no," said Ossenfort when asked if Hopkins would be traded last night.

"DeAndre is a Cardinal. So DeAndre is a Cardinal and we're moving forward."
