Adam Schefter: Seahawks among NFL teams looking to trade down in Round 1

In this story:
As the Seattle Seahawks prepare for Day 1 of the 2025 NFL draft, fans are wondering what general manager John Schneider has up his sleeve. With five total picks in the first three rounds, the team has enough draft capital to move up or down at will.
However, it doesn't sound like many teams are looking to trade up in this year's draft. The lack of star power at the top of the class and perceived depth in the middle rounds has a handful of general managers looking to trade down.
According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Seahawks are one of several teams hoping to move back in the first round.
"On the other side of things, the Steelers (No. 21) are among the teams interested in moving back from their first-round slot," claimed Schefter. "That list also includes the Jaguars (5), Panthers (8), 49ers (11), Falcons (15), Seahawks (18), Buccaneers (19) and Vikings (24), who currently have four picks, the fewest any team."

Most draft experts don't consider the middle of the first round an ideal spot in this year's class, and based on the other teams that Schefter mentioned, NFL general managers seem to agree.
The Seahawks currently hold the 18th pick in Round 1. If a blue-chip talent like Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan doesn't fall into Seattle's lap, perhaps the team will look to deal the pick, assuming there's a willing trade partner.
The final week leading up to the NFL draft is always filled with rumors, speculation and common sense that gets misrepresented as insider information. Schefter is one of the few people covering the league with actual insider knowledge, though, so don't rule it out.
