Biggest Surprise From Seattle Seahawks Unofficial Depth Chart vs. Cowboys

The first Seattle Seahawks unofficial depth chart for the game against the Dallas Cowboys has one glaring surprise.

The defending champion Seattle Seahawks will be in action this Saturday as they host the Dallas Cowboys in Preseason Week 1.

Even with their top players such as Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Sam Darnold, Leonard Williams, and Devon Witherspoon all returning, Seattle has multiple positions up for grabs. One of the most prominent spots is at running back, a position that was vacated when Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Making things even more interesting at running back is the injury suffered by Zach Charbonnet. During Seattle's playoff run, Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL and hasn't been cleared for action. The Seahawks attempted to fill that void with rookie Jadarian Price, who they selected in the first round of the NFL draft out of Notre Dame.

Price worked behind Jeremiyah Love with the Irish, but has all the traits to be an effective lead back. His skill set fits well with the Seattle offense and he entered the offseason as the expected starter. On the first unofficial depth chart, however, that's not the case.

The depth chart, which was shared by Field Gulls, has Price as the RB2 behind third-year pro George Holani.

Holani has been a standout for the Seahawks during camp, which comes as a surprise to no one. Holani has often been able to impress during offseason work as well as the preseason. Due to the depth at running back, he hasn't been able to do much in the regular season.

In two years, Holani has 25 attempts for 83 yards and one touchdown. This season could be his chance to carve out a larger role in the offense and if this depth chart is any indication, he will be given the chance to do exactly that.

The EDGE is another spot of interest, where Derick Hall is listed as the backup behind DeMarcus Lawrence while the starter across from Lawrence is Uchenna Nwosu.

Nwosu had seven sacks last season while starting 11 of the 16 games he appeared in, but Hall signed a three-year extension worth $42 million, suggesting he could be in for a starting spot. They also have Ty Okada listed ahead of rookie Bud Clark as the starting safety across from Julian Love.

Of course, this is an unofficial depth chart and there could be several changes before the regular season, but that doesn't mean there aren't some surprises.
