Seahawks land Alabama stud in PFF's new 2025 NFL mock draft

In Mike Macdonald's first season as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, the defense finished 11th in points allowed (21.6 per game) and 14th in yards allowed (332.7 per game). Despite the promising start, there's still plenty of room for improvement in Year 2 of the post-Pete Carroll era.
The Seahawks aren't in a position to add any major free agents and the draft will provide them with the most bang for their buck. With the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine set to begin this week, mock draft season is in full swing.
The latest comes from Pro Football Focus' Dalton Wasserman, who projects Seattle to draft stud Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell at pick No. 18. The Crimson Tide standout has the versatility Macdonald values and the kind of size and speed to be a difference-maker at the NFL level.
"The Seahawks desperately need interior offensive line help, but they may be able to wait until Day 2 to find it," wrote Wasserman. "Another option in the first round could be Campbell, the top-ranked linebacker on PFF’s big board."

Campbell is a fundamentally sound off-ball linebacker with the ability to line up at multiple spots. Last season at Alabama, he played 637 snaps at linebacker and over 110 snaps along the defensive line.
The 21-year-old finished the year with 119 tackles (55 solo), five sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. Campbell played defensive end and wide receiver in high school and was highly productive at both positions.
The Seahawks also have a big decision to make on free agent Ernest Jones. If the team can't afford to bring back the versatile linebacker, Campbell is someone who could step into a similar role as a rookie.
