Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a number of former Green Bay Packers teammates he could swap jerseys with after the two teams face off in Week 8, but he already has one player in particular singled out.

Rodgers & Love Reuniting

Though Rodgers stated that he isn't sure exchanging jerseys will be possible due to the Packers' policy, he made it clear that he'd want to do so with Jordan Love if the opportunity presents itself.

“Packers have always been a little weird about swapping (jerseys) — don’t know what the policy is — but if there is one it would be Jordan Love," Rodgers said, per TMJ4's Ashley Washburn.

Earlier in the week, Love expressed his interest in reconvening with his former mentor and trading jerseys now that they're finally playing against one another.

"I would love to swap jerseys with him. But who knows. They’re breaking out those throwback jerseys out. We’ll see. I like to hold onto mine, so I’ll see what he wants to do. But I need one — Forsure," Love said, per WFRV Local 5's Kyle Malzhan.

Rodgers & Love's Relationship

Green Bay's decision to take Love with the No. 26 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was nothing short of astonishing at the time, but it ultimately worked out for the franchise.

Though Rodgers likely wasn't thrilled that the Packers opted to select his eventual replacement instead of a wide receiver when the team was in Super Bowl contention, he won two-straight MVPs in 2020 and 2021 before being traded to the New York Jets in April 2023 once his relationship with the franchise truly fell apart.

Rodgers and Love have both been nothing but complementary of one another, however, and they seemingly forged a strong relationship during their three years together in Green Bay.

"I was real quiet in the quarterback room," Love said, per Packers.com's Mike Spofford. "I was trying to just sit back and watch him. I tried to stay in my lane, but A-Rod was great at trying to find ways to incorporate me into the room and give me little pointers.

"And I think as the years went on, the relationship got better. I kept trying to ask him more questions and pick his brain on things. It's definitely something I had to work my way up and talk more in the room."

What's At Stake in Week 8

Rodgers surely has a lot on his mind, even if he won't outwardly admit it, heading into this weekend's bout with the Packers. He crafted a Hall of Fame legacy during his 18 years with the team, and now he'll get a chance to play against them for the first time in his career as a member of the Steelers.

Pittsburgh could badly use a win at home after falling in heartbreaking fashion to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. The team still holds a 1 1/2-game lead atop the AFC North at 4-2, but the margin for error has gotten thinner.

Rodgers has performed well all season long, throwing for 14 touchdowns and five interceptions as well as 1,270 yards, and the Steelers' offense as a whole has begun rounding into form.

Should Pittsburgh defeat Green Bay, Rodgers would become the fifth quarterback in NFL history to beat all 32 teams in the league, perhaps adding a bit of extra motivation for the 41-year-old.
