Boston College Misses Out on 3-Star DT to ACC Foe

In this story:
While the Boston College staff has put together an incredible offseason thus far on the recruiting trail, the Eagles did receive a bit of bad news on Thursday as a long time 2026 target officially committed to another school within the ACC.
3-Star defensive lineman Amier Clarke from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida announced his commitment to Georgia Tech on social media, choosing the Yellow Jackets over Boston College, Syracuse and Rutgers.

The 6-foot-2, 290 lb. prospect is ranked as the No. 121 player in the nation at his position and the No. 137 player in the Sunshine State, according to 247Sports' composite ranking. As a junior in 2024, he finished with 48 tackles and elevel sacks, showing his ability to both stop the run and rush the passer.
While missing out on a talented prospect like Clarke is certainly less than ideal, Boston College does already hold five other defensive line commits in the 2026 class, and 10 commits total on the defensive side of the ball.
As of now, the Eagles' summer surge looks to be slowing down a bit as the offseason progresses, but there is still work to be done in the 2026 class for O'Brien and the staff. Despite nearly 30 commitments, Boston College has been unable to land a linebacker in the upcoming class, and will need to secure a bit more defensive talent overall likely.
