The Tulsa Golden Hurricane added a notable former Big Ten assistant coach this week. Kevin Wilson's team formally announced the hire of Corey Dennis as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.

Dennis spent 2015-2023 as an assistant at Ohio State. He spent the last four seasons as the Buckeyes' quarterbacks coach. He was let go following the 2023 season and had brief stints this offseason as an analyst with Utah and Ole Miss. Dennis is also the son-in-law former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.

In his fairly short career, Dennis has already worked closely with a Heisman winner (Joe Burrow) as well as two Heisman finalists (Dwayne Haskins and Justin Fields).

"I think Corey is going to be a really good coach for a long time," Burrow told Cleveland.com in 2020. "I think he’s going to be one of the best recruiters in the country."

Tulsa began their 2024 spring practices this past Saturday. They will have 15 total practice sessions this spring.
