Cleveland Browns are Bringing Back QB Josh Dobbs on a One-Year Deal
Cleveland Browns have their new backup quarterback in the form of a familiar face. Joshua Dobbs is returning to the Browns on a one-year deal, per his agency. Dobbs spent 11 games with the Browns last season as the backup quarterback to Jacoby Brissett until Deshaun Watson returned.
Following being cut by the Browns last season, Dobbs ended up receiving his first two career starts with the Tennessee Titans. Dobbs threw two touchdowns to two interceptions and completed 40-of-68 passes for 411 yards. During those two games, Dobbs took off on the ground eight times for 44 rushing yards.
Prior to being with the Browns, Dobbs was with the Pittsburgh Steelers for four seasons. He was a fourth-round pick of the Steelers in 2019.
After protecting Kellen Mond on the practice squad all of last season, it looked like they were working him in to be the backup. Now, it looks like it's Dobbs' job to lose.
