Cleveland Browns Announce new Bill Willis Diversity Coaching Fellow

Cleveland Browns are bringing a new piece to their staff.

Cleveland Browns are bringing in their third aspiring NFL coach to the Bill Willis Diversity Coaching Fellowship. After the last two have went off to NFL jobs in some form, there was a a vacancy left to be filled with the fellowship.

The Browns are bringing in Nyema "Nemo" Washington to provide help with the quarterback, wide receiver, running back and tight end rooms in 2023. Previously, Washington was an assistant coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Wheeling University.

Cleveland named the fellowship after Bill Willis, who along with teammate Marion Motley, were one of the first two African American professional football players in the modern era. The fellowship helps minorities gain a step in this line of work.

Ashton Grant became an offensive quality control coach after he spent two years as a fellow in 2020 and 2021. Israel Woolfork held the spot in 2022 before becoming the Arizona Cardinals' QB coach in recently.
