Browns Release Second Year Defensive Tackle

Cleveland Browns began their Tuesday by making a roster move. According to a report, the Browns have released second-year defensive tackle, Ben Stille. Still spent time with both the Miami Dolphins and Browns as a rookie in 2022. Browns Digest can confirm that the Browns released WR Marquez Stevenson, as well.

Stille played in six games for the Browns last season, including one start made. During that time, Stille made three tackles and one hit on the quarterback. In one game with the Dolphins, Stille had made two tackles.

An undrafted free agent out of Nebraska, Stille is listed at 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds. The likely result here is that the Browns have made Stille the odd man out in their defensive tackle room. With the additions of Dalvin Tomlinson, Siaki Ika, Maurice Hurst, and Trysten Hill — Cleveland has other guys like Tommy Togiai, Perrion Winfrey, and Jordan Elliott fighting for roster spots. Don’t be surprised if Cleveland adds more at the position before camp, either.

With the signing of Rodney McLeod, the Browns needed to free up a roster spot as they sat over the 90-player threshold. This looks to be the move that counters that. Stille is a player that could end up on the practice squad when the season rolls around.
