3 Top Storylines for the Seahawks' 14th Training Camp Practice

It won’t be long until the Seattle Seahawks are officially in preseason mode. On Saturday, the Seahawks will face the Dallas Cowboys for their preseason game of the 2026 NFL Season.
The Seahawks are taking the remainder of this week to plan for the matchup, but mostly to determine who will be utilized. While most of the team’s 14th practice was dominated by the conversations around free agent cornerback Terrion Arnold, there were other big storylines from the practice.
D’Anthony Bell Blossoming

The Seahawks were busy this offseason signing three veteran safeties, including D’Anthony Bell, who played 14 games for Seattle last season. There were expectations of Rodney Thomas being a serious lone candidate for a backup safety spot, but Bell has had some impressive practices.
On Monday, he had a critical moment during practice where he intercepted quarterback Jalen Milroe for a 90-yard pick-six. This was a big moment for the Seahawks’ defense during practice. He has the knowledge of head coach Mike Macdonald’s defense and he is becoming more dynamic.
Bell’s ability to play and as a box linebacker, similar to nickel, makes him stand out against other veteran safeties trying to secure a roster spot. The more knowledge and dynamic a player is on Macdonald’s defense, the more likely they are to stay.
Jalen Milroe is Getting A Lot of Development
This is the time of the preseason when the backups and young players prepare for the first preseason game. Macdonald said after practice on Monday that the team will try some things out differently at quarterback during the preseason. This likely means they will test out Milroe in more unique situations.
The Seahawks want to develop Milroe more as a passer than a gadget quarterback. He is going to provide much value as a former third-round pick by being a run-only quarterback. Seattle will likely start Drew Lock against the Cowboys, but Milroe could likely take a majority of the snaps. One of those quarterbacks could be on the trade market before too long.
Price Out, Several Others Back

The Seahawks had several players return from injury on Monday. Wide receiver Jake Bobo, defensive end Mike Morris and linebacker Jamie Sheriff all returned. Rookie cornerback Julian Neal was able to return for warm-ups before ultimately being pulled for the remainder of practice. Both Morris and Sheriff have a lot of ground to make up if they want to secure a roster spot.
One player who isn’t back yet is rookie running back Jadarian Price. The Seahawks have said Price has been out with lower-body soreness for a few practices now. Macdonald told the media that there is nothing to be concerned about, and they will ease him back. Either he will return to practice soon and not play in the first preseason game, or he will rest up so that he will be as close to fully healthy as possible for the matchup.
