Fans React to Seahawks Throwback Jerseys vs. Broncos

In this story:
The Seattle Seahawks will have uniform nerds geeking out during their Thursday Night Football meeting with the Denver Broncos during the 2026 season.
The Seahawks and Broncos announced that they would be donning throwback uniforms in Empower Field at Mile High when the two teams meet to open Week 6 on primetime television.

"The Thursday Night Football matchup will mark the eighth time the Seahawks have worn their throwback uniforms since making their debut in the 2023 season," Seahawks.com contributor Colin Gunther wrote.
"Seattle's won four of the seven games where they have worn these uniforms, including a Week 1 victory over the Broncos to open the 2024 season. The team wore these uniforms three times during the 2025 Super Bowl-winning season with one game being played in primetime; a 38-14 road win over the Commanders in Week 9."
There was a mixed response to the reintroduction of the jersey, but most of them were relatively positive.

Desire for White Away Throwbacks
Some fans questioned if the Seahawks would wear their white throwback uniform because they are going to be the road team for the matchup. Fans are hoping this is the direction they will take, especially with the Broncos wearing orange for the game.
Bruh we just want the white throwbacks man….

One fan is even considering bringing out an old shirt of his specifically for the game, as the Seahawks and Broncos used to be AFC rivals.
I’m ready to bring this out of storage. Let’s go Seahawks. It may not fit as well …. pic.twitter.com/Cohlm810W5

Not Everyone's a Fan
While most of the reaction to the jersey announcement was positive, there were some that weren't as thrilled about the decision.
As a proud Seattle Seahawks fan I will always prefer the current logo over the old one that looks mentally handicapped.

throwback jerseys always look better on tv than they do irl though, curious if these hold up

Would have been better if we had some away throwbacks

Looking Back at Seahawks vs. Broncos Rivalry
Before the Seahawks made the move to the NFC in 2002, they were big rivals with the Broncos, and they have played them 58 times in NFL history, which is tied for the most games against any other opponent, along with the Los Angeles Rams.
The Seahawks are 35-23 against the Broncos all time, including a 43-8 win in Super Bowl XLVIII back in 2014.
This could potentially be a Super Bowl preview for this season, as both teams finished the 2025 campaign as the number one overall seed in their respective conference. The Seahawks went on to win the Super Bowl, while the Broncos finished one game short, losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.
The Seahawks will face the Broncos inside Empower Field at Mile High on Oct. 15.
