The NFL is a brutal business, from the physical toll the game takes on your bodies to the way teams treat players once they stop being productive. Regardless of how well a player performs or how long they stay with a particular team, everyone eventually becomes expendable in the minds of NFL general managers.

Seattle Seahawks legend Richard Sherman is sick of seeing his former team disrespect players at the tail end of their careers. Sherman especially took exception with Seattle cutting 10-year veteran Tyler Lockett.

"I don't know what it would take to retire a Seahawk at this point... for a guy to finish his career where he started," Sherman stated on his podcast. "What they would have to accomplish. You know, they always cut or trade their great players and this is just another example of that."

Sherman went on to point out what happened to linebacker Bobby Wagner, another Seahawks legend whose time in Seattle came to an unceremonious end.

"I just wish they did better by their great players," said Sherman. "Bobby Wagner. What happened to him? They don't re-sign him and then they try to bring him back and he has an All-Pro season. And then, they don't re-sign him again. He goes somewhere else, has an All-Pro season."

Sherman feels the team is hurting its image by its treatment of accomplished veteran players. The former Legion of Boom member also isn't a fan of the team moving DK Metcalf.

"If you trade DK, you're going to be wishing you had him back," concluded Sherman.
